Yappy's MAME Project
Week 1
I read up on MAME (Multi Arcade Machine Emulator) on MAME.NET & MAMEWORLD.NET. Out of excitement on one of the most nostalgic things I could ever do I decided to take on a challenge of making a MAME Arcade. I purchased a $400 dollar Arcade Machine "NBA JAM" I found on Ebay from a Local Bar Owner. I would however highly suggest if you are thinking of making a MAME machine to go to an Arcade Auction (links below). Now that I've read more on it I have notice people purchasing machines anywhere from $35-$400. This 1993 box is standard JAMMA+ (Japanese Amusement Machine Manufacturers Association). Since I used an old arcade machine I decided to order a J-PAC $73.00 (Jamma-Pc to Arcade Control) if I wanted to create my own controls I would go with an I-PAC (Interface for Pc to Arcade Controls). First I had to locate JAMMA connector to connect to the J-PAC |
